Literature and Culture in the Bicentennial

Undergraduate Students in Language and Literature at the University of Chile call for the XII Latin American Literature Andean Student JALLA-e Santiago 2010 to be held from 4 to 8 October this year. We call on all university students and recent graduates interested in becoming part of the discussion on our literature and culture in general.

Year after year, in a Latin American country, students of the most important houses of studies take the responsibility to carry out Congress JALLA-e, Andean Journeys Students Latin American Literature, 1993, request that emerges from JALLA , the leading conference bringing together leading scholars, critics and researchers every two years.

The need to conduct a student-level discussion on Latin American literature is emerging JALLA-e, which over the years has now become an agency that also deals with historical, sociological, philosophical, anthropological and cultural . Passing cities such as La Paz, Bogota, Salta, Quito and Cuzco, is that the past year came to Arica and deciding what would be the other host city of destination, a group of students at our institution presented its proposal, supported by Literature Department, Faculty of Philosophy and Humanities, and won the responsibility for making the 2010 the XII Latin American Literature Andean Students at our University of Chile.

14. Social and political conflicts in Latin America
15. Perspectives of literature from other disciplines

TERMS:

The deadline for receipt of proposals for panels and papers is June 15. If your paper was accepted, the Organizing Committee will contact you on the 15th of August. The full paper should be sent on 5 September.
